The point Greg and I are making is this is not an arbirtary decision to be left to whomever has the paintbrush. If there are 50 different schemes used at some time on the railroad, you have 50 good examples to copy for historic accuracy.
The equipment NEVER had chrome lettering that said "Cunbres and Toltec" and as a museum piece it never should have. Pick any authentic paint scheme that the locos of that K class had and duplicate it. That is what you should be proud of, not painting the pilot wheels solid silver because you thought it would look nice.
Greg, I did send an email to the Commsission on this subject but never heard back. More emails or letters may get a better reaction. Go for it!
