"Jason Said...Another question,
If some find it upsetting that the Ohio Central, which is a "real" railroad as much as the GTW was, and now owns said GTW locomotive and letters it Ohio Central are these same people upset that the Rio Grande relettered and even renumbered the ex Florence & Cripple Creek locomotives or that the C&S relettered and re numbered the ex Denver Boulder & Western locomotives? "
Greg replies....I think the difference here is that the 6325 is NOT USED in regular freight service, but more for excursions, and to re-create the past. The Rio Grande and other things you mentioned were for regular operations. Ohio Central in fact does buy second hand diesels, and reletters them for OC, and uses them in regular freight service.
"Jason said..I would agree that musems should paint and letter equipment in an historically accurate fashon. As for cars with long service lifes, pick one point or as the Colorado RR Museum does, letter one side one way and the other side another. As for operating railroads, they have every right and are actually being historically accurate by lettering and painting equipment for themselves (as evidenced by the above examples)

I pretty much agree with you on the cars, etc.
