Here's another $.02 FWIW. Has anyone given any thought to what the C&S would have done, motive-power-wise, had their narrow gauge operation survived to 2005? New steam power would have undoubtedly been obtained, quite possibly larger than #40. Steam also would probably have gone the way it did on the standard gauge, and we'd be seeing EMD and GE products on the Loop. Just speculation, of course, but food for thought for those looking for something else to argue about. -- Ed
