Amen. Well, maybe a FEW of us die-hard foamers who rode the line in the 60's might ride it ONCE more - for old-time's sake - but for most people the trip is already an hour or two longer than they'd like. Politics and the well-being of Antonito aside, the average tourist would probably prefer that the eastern terminus be a "wild west" town built (as authentically as possible) in the middle of the loop at Lava Tank. If this could also serve as a movie set and bring in some additional income, so much the better.
On the other hand, if that beautiful stone depot is still standing in Antonito, I'll be happy to help lay track back to the middle of town and to help rebuild the wye ... but Alamosa?? I don't think so!
