My dad rode the 1954 RMRRC trip all the way from Alamosa, and the diesel was on the point of a K28 from Durango to Silverton. He has a fair amount of coverage including the runby at the Highline where they took the diesel off(it went on over the bridge light before recoupling). Then there are shots riding behind it from the caboose cupola behind the engine, and a shot in Silverton of it uncoupling.
I recently lost my historical assistant on the video project, as it seems Earl is going back to a better paying job!
