Twenty years ago Gary Getman drew up the Scenic Railways' Master Plan, as per what that company's directors wanted to take the railroad . Gary did an excellent job and there were many great ideas in it . To the everlasting credit to Carlton Colquitt and Leo Schmitz ,a lot of those ideas came to be. But when I look at what as planned for Chama ,Cumbres and Osier ,I am glad some ideas were not implemented . This railroad will survive as long as it considered an asset to its owners , its communities and its devotees . It is not a caricature of railroading ,like its wealthier neighbor ,and I hope , will never be .
