Wish I could tell you, but I promised them that I would not divulge my sources, as they are "on site" and that is more than I should mention.
Most everyone from McCloud that I talk to are most upset with the events that are unfolding. The railroad has become the life-blood of the community, and they are also proud of the amount of local history that has managed to remain, or (in the case of the 18) been brought back to the community. Unlike Dunsmuir's (my hometown) SP 1727, which never ran in the area, the McCloud steamers are original to the Railroad.
The maintenance folks at RG may be saying that, but what is management saying --oftentimes completely different points of view!

Leaving for McCloud in a few more hours, loaded with film, and digital cards. (Egads, I haven't shot film for years!)
