Herb, I'm in general agreement with you. I much prefer narrow gauge steam railroads and equipment to other railroad topics. However, I do find it rather interesting to read the occasional thread about a standard gauge shortline, or sg steam. I think we can learn much to help keep our existing ng operations going from some of the info about the sg steam lines.
The recent threads about the GLR, while sad, are extremely important reference material. The same thing could, possilby, happen to the C&TS if the CHS gets its nose under the tent flap, so-to-speak.
I, for one, welcome threads on that kind of subject. Living in west Texas with little contact with railroad folks in Colorado, I would not have known about the end for the GLR as we've known it otherwise.
No, let's keep this board as it is. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
