HI,
A well maintained steam locomotive displayed in the area that it called home is not a bad thing.
Coming from the workld of maritime preservation as I do, it is well to remember that the vast majority of ships that are in museums will never leave the dock, unless they are on the way to a ship yard for repairs and not the scrapyard.
I have seen the K class narrow gauge engines at C&TS and the D&S narrow gauge. I for one am really glad that the previous generation of Colorado narrow gauge steam is getting a bit of attention now. It is a shame that no D&RG 4-4-0s survived long enough to go to a park or a museum.
All of these projects are poor as church mouse so if you can; SEND MONEY! I have.
