Re: #476-Down for the count

Even though a gag order exists, I'll try to shed some light on 476. As Coker and Johnson said, the saddle is loose as a result of the frame keys being worn. Plans are to have seven locomotives running next year. Currently, 473, 478, 480, 481 and 482 are pulling the load. 476 is operational and could be fired up if needed but is held because of the above problem. 486 is getting the final steps of it's restoration. If anyone wants to purchase an old tender tank, contact the D&S. Lastly, there is nothing on a locomotive that a GOOD welder and a GOOD machinist can't fix when provided with the tools, materials, help and time required to do the job!
