Touché, Tank -
I have already plead guilty to that unforgivable crime, committed in haste and recorded forever on film — see [
ngdiscussion.net]. OTOH, #483 wasn't wearing a plow in 1970, and we all knew decorating #487 was for a one-afternoon party and she'd be re-numbered in the next day or two.* This was not billed as an exact historic re-creation that Phraud-O-Graphers™ would be paying hundreds of dollars to ride behind, presumably for several weeks and months if not years. And in all three cases – 483, 168 and 425 – it would be easy to fix if anybody cared.

The problem with loco numbers is not new, BTW — see the thread from more than eight years ago starting at [ngdiscussion.net] . . .
* Alan never told me that he was going to leave #487 painted in those hideous colors for the rest of the season.
