Olaf,
Thanks for sharing not only your experiences but your images of your trips documenting the last years of the narrow gauge with all the "Greats". In the absence of not having the luck of being old enough to be aware of the narrow gauge or the means to get to it, I count myself fortunate to have found this site that features the work such greats such as yourself, Ernie, Mr. West and others. I am sure there are a bunch of others who I am missing, and I apologize for not being able to recall their names equally as easy. Just know that your kindness in sharing has greatly impacted those out here that truly appreciate your collective efforts back then.
In this vain, I am collecting pics for my future 1;20,3 (F scale) layout and the pics will give me the ability to get as close as possible to the prototype. In one of the scenes I want to represent you guys (yourself and Ernie) out along the right of way taking pics. Do you have any selfies of you guys out along the right away taking pics you could share?
After being to several narrow gauge conventions, I have come to realize our circles are not that young, At 57 y/o I figure I am in the lower quarter of the cross section of narrow gauge enthusiast, Your effort to share, and all the other "Greats" as I like to call you guys will enable our hobby and enthusiasm to prosper in the years to come,
Simply put: THANKS again to you and your felow "Greats" for sharing!
R/s,
Jon
