I pulled the last of my yard sale stock of VHS machines out of the storage shed the other day. Always a mystery if they are going to work since we are talking about a $10 machine which I purchased over 25 years ago. I am not mechanically inclined so nothing to do but pull the shell and see if there is anything that can be fixed with a judicious probe of a flat head screw driver or a ball peen hammer. VHS repairmen have gone down the same road to oblivion as TV repairmen or stage coach repairs. Next failure its off to Amazon for a $100 or so. Seems high for a machine that was totally obsolete 20 or so years ago,
The difference between regular DVD and BluRay is as vivid as the difference between VHS and DVD. Always buy BluRay when I have a choice but upgrading existing stock is way out of my SS budget. At least I was able to guess HD v Bluray (And trick my wife into buying a PS3!). Talk about obsolete,,,I had a Beta player!
