I got the silent VHS of the WB program featuring the Jim Marcos photography in the 1980s. Gorgeous 16 mm photography which actually looked better on VHS than DVD.
When I got a copy of the WB program Rio Grande Narrow Gauge on DVD I noticed some changes, Excellent DVD which I greatly enjoyed.
1. The entire Bocea Hill segment was missing, I am surprised that the crew would be so tolerant of such BS as I suppose they just wanted to get the turn completed & go home, I think it would be entirely justified if the front brakeman get off the engine and beat the crap out of Jim or at least throw him off the property. Interference with interstate commerce or some such legalese.
2.Shots of the train passing by both Whiplash & Sublette are missing. Both featured somebody (Jim himself ???) jumping on and off the moving train.
3. Most amusing was a series of shots on the Farmington branch. Jim photographed at a number of grade crossings getting closer & closer. Sure enough he got a little too close and the piston actually knocked the camera off the tripod. After that the following shots were at a much safer distance.
I guess WB didn't want to make railfans look even worse than usual.
