We were up there all day and never saw a soul- I guess it’s pretty remote country.
We were traveling in EO’s sons beater Subaru. When I stepped off #6 in Grand Jct I was sceptical, but the end of the week (we also drove the CPRR RoW across UT/NV) this had changed to admiration- the little beastie proved to be a little scrapper!
So this Summer I picked up a first gen Subie Forester for a mir $1500, outfitted it as a dedicated photo accessory, and dubbed it NECRO 4OUR (homage to the VW and two Land-Rovers that came and went before it). So far it’s bashed it’s way across the Nevada Copper Belt and some C&C RoW, and now conquered a chunk of C&T backcountry.
It’s done brilliantly!
