Hello yet again -
The curve beyond m.p. 305 is 5½ miles from the Big Horn wye for the meandering train but it's only two miles on the "road", so Ernie was able to get down the hill quickly enough to catch this going-away shot there

He then drove another six or seven miles west on the road to Osier, and scrambled down the cliff near Phantom Curve for this overview of the west portal of Toltec Tunnel #1 (aka 'Mud Tunnel')

From there it's a steep climb back up to the road and then a long way back almost to Mogote to catch Highway 17 over La Manga Pass to Los Pinos, but Ernie managed the drive in time to catch the train coming up the valley and crossing the long, low trestle just east of the siding

. . . and then – in spite of construction on highway 17 – it's on to Cumbres in time to catch the train's arrival at the top of the pass
