Greg, another shot taken the same day but certainly not a lot to go on, and no curve so it must a different spot.

George Werner and I spent two weeks in South Africa and that was way too little time. But both of us were busy with careers so time was a luxury. Just glad I went when I did. When I returned a few years ago for a David Rogers charter, it was really depressing to see how run down much of the railway had become. Here's a 1983 picture of the station at Patensie on the Port Elizabeth 2-foot gauge line, look at the station rose garden. Nothing like that any more.
