I used to naively assume the EBT would always be running myself. I think most of us did. And that's not new, either. As John Krause said in his 1975 Railfan & Railroad Magazine piece, "Orbisonia Obsession", back in the 1950s it seemed to him that it was the Colorado narrow gauges that were disappearing, while the EBT was "secure in tradition and coal."
