The last I heard, he who will not be mentioned with the East Broad Top Railroad Preservation Association, bought the yard and the track all the way down to the Augquick creek bridge. He is in the process of upgrading the track to be able to support standard gauge equipment (WITH NG RAIL ), and having rail service to the industrial park nearby. I have also heard some rumors of a 2016 or 2017 reopening from sources close to the top. We shall see what happens I guess.

These are the opinions of a twenty Four year old model railroader/narrow gauge/standard gauge steam fan.
