IIRC, the steel replica cars (and several sets of passenger trucks) were built at Burnham Shops in Denver by the D&RGW before they sold the Silverton Branch to Charles Bradshaw, so I'm not sure that the D&S has a whole lot of knowledge to share in this regard.
