Sadly my friend, I think you will find there is now a vociferous contingent who would seemingly PREFER the RR to fail if it won't listen to their demands on how it should be run.

What they want often isn't what most of the general public wants, or best for the fiscal health of the RR.... but that doesn't matter.

Some of them are active in the community and on this board. They claim to be "supporters", but then you get unsolicited backchannels from them like this...
"What if the supporter speaks to senior, church, and historical society groups all over Colroado about the history of Colorado's narrow gauge railroads. And what if those groups ask which railroad does the supporter recommend they ride. What if the supporter is asked to have lunch with the speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives (he is the supporters's representative). What if the speaker wants to know about the history of the C&TS and whether the supporter thinks the $$$ are being spent wisely.

What if the supporter has written books and articles about the history of the D&RGW NG and what if this supporter gets requests for data from the Friends and from the D&S also.

What if this supporter tells a senior group of over 300 people planning a trip to ride one of the railroads that he recommends they go to Durango."

With that kind of "support" (sounds more like extortion), who needs detractors?
