The suggestion of a diseasel may rankle the purists, BUT it might make just economic sense if 1. One in good condition could be had cheaply enough, and 2. It was added to the schedule as, say a midday short turn a few times a week for those who don't want/can't afford a full trip.
That would encourage not only more day trippers to stop, but parents of small kids as well. And rather than thinking of it as taking away from the full trips, it could possibly be a stepping stone for a later return visit IF it is made enjoyable to the folks.
I honestly don't know what the ridership break point would be. And I doubt anyone here has seriously studied that recently, either.
All I know is the "my way or the highway" stuff and snarky "Sure let's... too" comments from a few of you certainly doesn't encourage folks with different ideas to want to contribute. Now does it?
Honestly, I've completely lost respect for a few of you. And I find that really sad.
