To keep the record straight...

...it was not a question of saving money by not running steam every trip. The question was one of do we run truncated trips with the #19 or do we cancel the season. For those who may have missed it, I explained the decision, the reason for it, and the results, to the best of my memory, a while back in my on-going saga of Scenic and the C&TS Part 5A and Part 5b.

Let there be no mistake or misunderstanding about it. There would have been no 1974 season without the #19. Scenic would not have survived that year, and its an open question as to whether the C&TS would have survived. Also, incidentally, there would have been no Winter Specials without the #19.
