These three photo are of the remains of one of the pump houses at Whitney. It may also have doubled as a sand house. This bld. has colapsed within the last 8-10 years. Based on the AFE's there was a gasoline powered pump in the bld. that pumped out of the adjacent creek to fill the water tower. I will post an historic B&W photo in my next post that shows the water tank and this bld. Basically lined up going East bound on the left side of the track was a drilled well pumped by a wind mill, to fill the water tank, then the water tank, then the additional pump house shown in these photos. If you look at the first color photo the water tank was where all the willows are growing. The concrete footings are present in and around this vegetation.
