Same photo attribution as the previous 2 posts. These are taken at the west entrance to Whitney with the train heading Eastbound in the B&W photo. The depot area was just ahead of the train. The stub switches are on a system of spurs one of which leads out to the OLC sawmill. The sagebrush pretty much obscures the grades in the color shots, but in fact one can walk around this area and see exactly where the grades were in the yard area as in most places the ties are still in place, though partially covered by vegetation. In the first color photo I am standing as near to the location of the original photographer as I could. In the second color photo the raised grade to the right is the SVRy mainline looking West. When it reaches the other side of the valley it will begin the climb to Tipton.
