Given the anger over the Loop situation, I have to wonder if something besides the frustration with the situation is at work here.
I am so tired of being screwed, yes, screwed, by government agencies, politicians and our so-called leaders - and I do not care which of the two main political parties they belong to. Part of my anger with this situation is that the people who take part in screwing us, the public in general, and in this specific case - railfans or people with a vested interest in the Loop, seem to always go unpunished.
Thus, I have to wonder if part of the desire to lynch those responsible is just sympatamatic (sp?) of the general anger towards those in positions of power who screw all of us on a daily basis. It might explain why this topic is such a hot button and the rage is mainly directed at CHS - who "we think "deserves it - and there are defenders for Railstar and the Ulrich Works who make attempts to defend these to entities and make sure the blame winds up on the CHS.
What do others think? Is it just anger of the dismantaling of a neat, historic in many ways, narrow gauge mountain railroad that is unique, or is also part of the frustration with the powers that be in general as well?
