Hi, Jimmy -
Thank you for re-posting the details of the June 27, 1966 Durango “work extra” 484 east on [
ngdiscussion.net] and the clarification of what most likely was the sequence of set-outs and pick-ups that day.
I am trying to sort out several rolls of film and to determine the exact dates on which certain photos were taken. Since you apparently have your August, 1966 records handy, I wonder if you could provide some additional information regarding the eastbound freight pictured above at Gato, with #483 helping #492? On another roll I have shots of #493 pulling a westbound freight through Osier with #498 as the mid-train helper, and #497 arriving eastbound in Chama. The next day #493 was the road engine eastbound from Chama with #497 as the rear-end helper. I presume #498 pulled the westbound train from Chama to Durango, but have no idea whether a fourth engine came east with #497 and then went back west with #498 as I have no pics of a fourth engine in Chama at that time.
Unfortunately, I was ex-Sperry-menting with a couple of cheap telephoto extenders that summer, so most of the pics are pretty fuzzy - especially those taken with the 3X extender in place - such as the first one in the following set taken at Osier the first day
