Re: Question on Railfaning

I remember (somewhat, I was a little young) seeing the 3751 over Cajon Pass. I remember seeing on the freeways, it seemed that everyone was trying to get a look at her, I even saw a couple of troopers doing it! I also remember when the 3985 came thru the Mojave desert a while back, and trying to film it at 100 mph. A lot of cars were pulled over, but we satayed on the highway.
I'm sure that a big boy, if one ever gets back into service, would be quite an earth shaker, but man, when I stood at a crossing and the 3985 came by, it knocked the movie camera out of my little hands, and damn near knocked me down too. That's something I'll never forget.
