Mark:
My information that the covered storage structure is proposed for the existing South yard tracks came from the Commission Ex. Director yesterday, hence my post. I did not say it would include coverage of the main yard track to the wye. I said all the yard area including the wye is included in the National Historic designation. If you do the math of 65,000 sq. feet over the yard it pretty much wipes out any yard "ambiance"...I am extremely disturbed that someone in the Friends would even think that covering the yard with a storage structure would be acceptable given the stated purpose of what the organization is supposed to be about, the National Historic status and all the other work that has been done in the yard to preserve it as a living museum.
