Hey, Frank, long time no see. How's things my friend? Miss seeing you around the yard. A few shots of Col Frank "working" in 2004...
You are right about working out in the sun in Chama. Downright cooked my pea-brain this last June down there in the swamp workin' on the Jordan. But that being said, the covered storage that has been kicked around for several years now was to be somewhat of a tight quarters, open sided, pole barn with a roof sort of affair somewhere out of sight of the main yard. The proposed Chama CRF (a different structure all together) would be more of a repair facility. Although, I suppose that the "pole-barn" storage could have every other track cleared out for work sessions to provide room to work under the roof. The initial concept was for a place to store the historic car fleet in the off season to try and retard (hey, who called me that?
) the deterioration of the wood components. Some of the cars are getting bad enough to the point where moving them might be problematic. It has become questionable whether the rest of the cars that need restoration can be saved before the ones that have already been restored need it again. What that concept/dream (storage shed, that is) has evolved to today I don't know.
