Usually I go up through Globe and the Salt River Canyon (which is about the same distance from Phoenix as it is from Tucson), then up through Show Low, up to I-40 at Holbrook (don't ask my lovely wife about what happened last time I went up thataway chasing trains... lets just say a BMW 3 series is a wee bit too low to clear some of that stealth concrete alongside the Santa Fe main/Route 66 remnant...) Then over to Albq, spend the night there (or in Santa Fe) and then up to Chama. I do it this way so we can get into Chama early enough to get a room (if we went directly it is too late at night when we arrive. And going up your way is just too long...I have to go 100 miles further west then go back the same 100 miles east. Sheesh... who laid out these roads anyways???
Anyways, if anyone is up thataway, could they check out if the stock cars are still there??? Thanks!
