Since I first came to Chama one of the best views of the railroad was the first view coming in on Terrace Ave from the north. It seems to me that a large interpretive center at street level on the east side of Terrace north of the log bunk house will ruin that view. If the flying Cumbres & Toltec on the water tank is offensive it is hard to imagine that a large building in the proposed location will not be offensive to the viewscape. Will someone please explain why rebuilding the wool warehouse as an interpretive center would not be a better idea. Alternately or additionally the existing warehouse in the yard could be rebuilt as a museum or interpretive center without changing the viewscape at all.
