I get the impression that a number of people are concerned about the "historic integrity" or creeping change issue.
What I'd like to see is some discussion of how to organize that concern into an effective lobby.
I can't think of a single Friends officer or member that I've met over the years who would be likely to oppose such an initiative conceptually.
The issues are practical. Identifying and agreeing on what is important, what can be fixed and what can't readily be fixed, dealing with the interdepencies on other activities, like operating, maintenance, restoration and interpretation activities, and finally actually doing it.
As an old boss of mine once told me, don't bitch make something happen. I'm not sure I know where the handle is on the football, but it's worth gropping around for.
