First thing I'm going to do is try to get some "after" pictures to go with some of my "before" pictures. That hopefully can illustrate the challenge. A lot of the changes have been gradual and modest, and over time easy to get used to. But perhaps some pictures that illustrate the cumulative affect will help determine how serious the problem is....or isn't.
Secondly, it might be useful to create a laundry list of the changes that have occurred. My guess is we all have our own list, some minor, some major, some based on our particular agenda. If somebody can start a consolidated list it might come in useful at some point. I'm willing to do it if folks will backchannel their ideas to me, but actually would prefer is somebody else would volunteer to get involved. Probably the less said on the internet the better, because the discussion here too often tends to polarize people before all the facts are in.
Thirdly, at some point this information needs to be organized and presented to the Friends board and to the Commission. A key here in my mind is keeping things factual. What if any actions are appropriate need to be driven by the facts, and must take into account all the practicalities of an operating railroad, preservation work, interpretation, etc. etc. etc.
