OK John, I know you're just trying to poke some fun at some of the heat which surfaced about this whole thing, but frankly, for the most part it's misplaced poking.

What most respondents were really after was more information, not badly informed debate. For my part I freely admitted (and still admit) that I was knee-jerking based on limited information, and I appreciate some of the clarification which followed. Perhaps I should've gone further in finding out more before reacting, but as Rod Jensen correctly points out in his remarks, there are some fundamental communications issues here.

Oh and BTW, for the ultimate in period geekiness, those trousers should've been high-water (preferably with white socks) rather than cuffed.
