If you are thinking of putting in switches, then I would contact A&K Railroad supplies in Salt Lake City, and ask them to send you a brochure on turnouts. There are other suppliers out there, cut most all of their brochures say pretty much the same thing....everyone wants to be talking the same language. A&K will send you literature that explains everything you want to know.
