Riding the C&TS

There was a discussion a year or so ago, maybe more. I posited that the ride from Chama to Antonito was the one to take if you could manage to travel the line in one direction only. A number of people disagreed and said the way to go was to travel from Antonito to Chama. I've thought about it a good deal and am ready to change my advice.
Obviously, the best way to see the line is to do a round-trip. If you're traveling a long way and it's your first visit, then you really * SHOULD * plan on spending two days on the line. If so, I'd suggest riding from Chama to Antonito on the first day, spending the night at the motel, and returning to Chama on the second day.
