They were off the roster in 25. After the barrel transfer was built in Salida, they were no longer needed. They were used primarily to haul coal from Crested Butte and they leaked coal like mad. One D&RGW depot agent told me that between Crested Butte and Salida, a car would leak about 5 percent of its load. For a while, the D&RGW right of way was ballasted with Crested Butte coal.
