I came into this late, and didn't read all of the above. However, you all might have forgotten we had this discussion a few years ago, and I in fact had an Otto Perry photo or two colorized by my designer for use on the cover of our video.

This was a 1954 trip from Alamosa to Durango, and then to Silverton which my dad rode. The image at Cumbres westbound is the exact train, and had 3 yellow coaches before the old green ones. Thus it was the EXACT train he was one.
Now being that all the movies were in color, and the images B&W I wanted to make the cover representative of the films, but all that I could find were B&W images. It's not meant to be 100% accurate, but it gets the job done.
As for doing a video of colorized images, thats not what we do, as motion is more our thing.
Don't get me started on debating video and dvd formats. That whole can of worms just keeps costing us more and more each time we have to change. We still have about 40 more titles to convert to DVD!!!! (:
