The problem right now is that we do not have the ample back-up power that the previous operators did. When #12 broke her axle, #9 was in the shop for planned maintenance, tweaking, and of course the previously mentioned staybolts. This left diesel #21, which did just fine until it too decided to give us problems. The timing of #21's problem could have been better. Remember, #21 was built to run at a steel mill, on flat track. Its use on our steep twisting railroad does put it to work. We DO NOT run it past is capacity, but it does get a work out on that beast of a hill.
