That sounds familiar Brett. I mean when I was living in Seneca Pacific Power had only recently tied Seneca into their system. Before that Hines Lbr. Co.'s boilers provided power to the local shops, store and homes. Hog fuel was hauled from the mill at Hines to Seneca to fuel the boilers. As I recall the hog fuel cars were open wood sided boxes with a means of dumping out the bottom.
A little side light to this. The steam from the boilers heated the shops, store and the single men's quarters. The steam pipe was placed above ground and insulated from the power house to the store and men's quarters. Undoubtedly it was wrapped in asbestos as it could get quite cold in Seneca. The pipe was 100 to 150 yards long. The single men's quarters was essentially a two story hotel. The hotel is still there and is privately owned. The power house, shops and store are all gone. I never got the opportunity to go inside the power house.
