Neat photo Steve. I talked to Mark Henderson a few weeks back about looking in on the plant.
Have you been to the Fremont Power house up above Granite (over Blue Springs Pass from Sumpter). It was shut down I believe in the 60's or maybe 70's. It is owned by the USFS now as far as I know and is open for tours presumably in the summer monthes. I first discovered it on a drive through the mountains. A major artiscally constructed out in the mountains is kind of unexpected. When I first saw it was the year after the roof colapsed destroying some of the arched windows and wall which are made out of sculpted concrete blocks to look like stone. I believe it was also built around 1905. As far as I know the damage has been repaired, but I have not been back since an Army Engineers Company was rebuilding the block walls. I got to wander around inside at that time. I believe that the powerline ran from it through the mountains past Granite to Bourne with a line dropping down into the Sumtper valley and another line going trough the Elkhorn's and tying in at Rock Crk.
