Hi, All -
Please forgive my re-posting this pic, taken of #498 on August 29, 1968. It shows - though not too well lit - the right-hand cylinder covers mentioned in the post to which I'm responding. It's one of the last action photos of #498 that I'm aware of.
I believe, but am not certain, that this was the last run of #498. The fourteen cars of lumber she was pulling were D&RGW's last revenue loads over Cumbres Pass. She also picked up a flat with a dozer aboard somewhere east of Cumbres.
