There used to be a true logging line of over 20 miles directly south out of Rockhill Furance which handled EBT flats, standard gauge flats and there own flats car. It was called McKelvey Brothers after they later incorporated. It operated with two Shay locomotives which were serviced in a engine house that used the 2 abandoned walls of the Iron Furance stock room. It was where the local road curves around it just south of the trolley/road crossing on the Shade Gap Branch.
Usually only one Shay was used at a time but it is known that both were out on the line at the same time moving props and logs. The main mill was at Rockhill behind the Furnance. At one time a smaller PRR wreck derrick was brought in from Altoona to pick up a Shay, so it must have been re-trucked at Mt.Union. The standard gauge cars were shipped directly to the hard coal fields without prop load transfer, only getting the wheels changed at the Timber Transfer.
