Thanks for sharing the information on the Eureka and best of luck in the future. My wife and I will write a letter to the F.R.A. in support for you and the Eureka. I hope it will help some.
It has always been a treat seeing the Eureka under steam. I wish I had the time last year to have taken you up on your offer of a ride, but alas that four letter word called "work" was fast approching that day. Perhaps next year I will be able to visit and stay for awhile.
I can offer you an invitation to bring the Eureka out to the Pacific Coast Railroad on the
Santa Margarita Ranch some time.
The P.C.R. may not be as spectatular or as long a railroad as the D&S. So far we only have two miles of track with some good grades.
The Santa Margarita Ranch is very historic. It was founded in 1774 as an extension of a Spanish Mission and it did play a role in California history.
