JBW is right, I am the John who responded. And my memory was faulty.
I found the photo I was thinking of - it's on page 6 of the July 1992 C&TS Dispatch, and is an aerial view of the Antonito terminal area in 1971. It shows the building in question, but there is no hint of any activity around it at all.
