Thanks for the details and photo of the old 12. Was the boiler removed and scrapped in Hawaii previous to having her shipped here? A bit less to ship!
I recalled the property in the Alviso/Drawbridge area was used for the first steam-up of the HRY #5 with her new boiler, but never knew the 12 was there.
Having researched Norman Clark a bit, I understand his plans for Roaring Camp were to represent both the importance of industrial railroading in California *and* Hawaii. Little 'Kahuku' seems to represent the original plan today. Apparently he was trying to set up some sort of museum on the Islands with the equipment he saved. Can anyone comment more on these plans?
