Re: Kahului 12's pre-Silverwood History

I'll have to go check my slides. I think I have some from circa 1976 showing Hawaii 5 and Kahului 12 in Chama, along with an ex Westside caboose. The 5 was basically complete, but No. 12 was a kit - some assembly required. The tender was on rails, but the engine was in pieces on several flat cars.
I have more slides taken in 1982 and 1983 showing No. 12 as a kit at Chama. And a slide of No. 12 shortly after being placed in service at Silverwood.
