Thanks for the photograph Mister West. It sure looks better than mine, taken in early 2001 when it was "stuffed and mounted." I'd like to see it come to the US and be put back in operating condition.

Sir, do you know if any of the non-operating Guatemalan steam locomotives are available for sale and export to the United States? I know most of the engines between Guatemala City and Puerto Barrios (from Trains Unlimited Tours) but are there other stranded engines in other locations? Also, do you know if the same is possible in El Salvador?

Patrick, the locos are not for sale-they are assets of FEGUA and we lease everything from them as opposed to owning them. El Salvador might be worth trying (though I have no contacts there) and of course the Cubans say they are interested in selling some locos but prices are high and they do not have a lot of experience in selling anything.
Steam locos in Guate are in Guatemala City (5) and Zacapa (5). There additional plinthed industrial locos-about 5 around the country.
