Sigh, I'd hoped I could spend my evening doing something other than beating dead horses.
Ok, what here is new? We know from this thread that the CHS wants #111, that they'll give Breckenridge #9 if they operate it otherwise, they'll give Breckenridge another comperable engine to display (best guess D&RGW #491). And that the CHS doesn't have to provide either until #111 is operable.
What I don't see is where there is anything new going on. The CHS is in CYA mode, the state government is hogtied by it's budgetary problems, and as a result won't do anything until a genuine crisis arises.
We can petition our tenders off, we can dance around nekkid with freshly kilt chickens and it won't do any good. The CHS is going to get their shot at this thing through Railstar. If / or when it doesn't work and Clear Creek County is in a fiscal crisis then will someone notice. Until then, it's a dead horse - iron or otherwise, and it's not worth fighting over.
Don
